We had a chilled day yesterday by the pool. I read my book in the shade (Kathy Reichs- 206 Bones, I love my crime/ forensic/ thriller fiction!), and Leon worked on his shade too, and went from creme brûlée, to burnt umber! We had another smoothie bowl for breakfast, and I tried the 6ft and offshore, being apple juice, avocado, ginger, mango, pineapple, spinach, all topped with the same as yesterday. We went to an Oz burger joint for dinner, and I had 3 mini burgers they call ‘sliders’. We shared a bottle of wine in our room (The equivalent of £3 for a bottle of Oz Sauvignon blanc!)
The weather has been so glorious, and we have enjoyed a few strolls about the Gold Coast. It’s market stall day and we go for a nose about. Lots of pretty handicraft, carved wood ornaments, jewellery, sludge (looks like silly putty if kids of the 90’s may remember from the playground)
We watched a really funny film by Jonny Knoxville (about a naughty grampa) and I have face ache and crying with laughter. It’s right up my street, and reminds me of stankervision‘s wacko the clown crossed with Tom Green. It’s not for the easily offended.
We hit the haystack early as 5.30am start tomorrow for the Fraser Island Trip! Leon drops off at 8pm and I can’t sleep so watch a film with Jonny Depp that seems loosely based on Jack the Ripper. Films never say what they were at the end! It just said it was based on an Alan Moore graphic novel. It was really dark and very good but gave me awful nightmares about being disembowelled. Delightful. Darn imagination!
Leon semi-woke about 9.30pm and asked me if we were in the air. It was so funny, I just said, yes baby, we are in the air! He is excited like a child at Xmas time, exclaiming ‘Really?!!’, I dissolve into hysterics and he snuggles back into the duvet muttering I’m a sleepy hamster. So cute!
