Wildlife Habitat Pt 2 (wallaby & pelicans)

The pelicans are HUGE and quite frankly, terrifying! Beaks resembling a samurai sword. The wallabies and kangaroos were sooo cute! I didn’t realise wallabies have the most soft and feathery eyelashes, and kangaroos put their joeys in the pouch with the feet sticking out
sometimes! We see a cassowary which is a bit like an emu with a large spatulate horn on its head, and a long dangly red gobbler. We are told it is actually closer to reptile than bird! It is remarkably odd! The females also abandon the eggs leaving the males to rear the chicks, often never seeing their offspring. 21st century creature! We continue to the Daintree rainforest and Cape tribulation and we are all keeping an eye out to see the cassowary in the wild, as they are getting very rare, as they can only survive in tropical rainforest, and not a lot left! 0.2% of Oz, where as millions of years ago, it was 60%! It hasn’t managed to adapt to dry forest like the emu has.
