Baden Trip 5, Day 2, Birthday Eve!!

Today, we woke up reporting one of the best sleeps ever. The comfort of the Leonardo beds and the silence and darkness is immense.
we went for a dip in the pool and then to the massive buffet breakfast. Leon has German wurst and egg, and I had masses of fruit and yoghurt. No einhornchen yet!

It’s really grey and drizzly today, so we stopped at possibly a Russian German cafe near the gawdy Russian golden church, and partake in some cake and hot drinks.

We have a mooch in a few shops, and head to Kunsthalle (art hall). It’s free in a Friday, thank goodness, as we are disappointed in this installation. It’s is a Crimean artist who takes photos of things in a slightly forced fashion that neither of us appreciate. One part is homeless people exposing various parts of their anatomy, that feels exploitative and doesn’t sit right. Maybe lost in translation, but we spend a mere 10min this time in a place we have previously loved (Muller Skit and another epic immersive installation). There are also some self portrait photos of the chap playing with a giant dildo while cavorting with his penis, and it’s all a bit strange, and not in a good way.
We then popped into town to get a dark Lindt hot choc (divine!)

So we decide to head back to the hotel for more swimming, reading the book of Dust, and chilling out.

We then went to our fave Italian/Deutch restaurant Rosso Bianco for a delicious birthday eve meal of Steamed salmon and Riesling wine for me, and prosciutto pizza and white beer for Leon!
