Day 3: 42nd solar return

We both slept so deeply again… it definitely helps not having our little hairy dictator screaming at us to get up! God love him. After a slow waking and a refreshing shower with some actual shampoo, we headed down for breakfast. I had scrambled egg on a rye bread and seed toast, with some ham and mustard, cheese, tomato, cucumbers, and a piece of chocolate stollen which I’ve never tried before!! It had dark chocolate on the outside of it! And of course, some obligatory coffee.

I spent about 15 minutes sending my thank yous to people that had wished me a happy birthday or sent me a card/gift, while Leon booked me a massage at the thermal Spa for 1 pm. And with that we headed out and took a stroll up to the spa. I just kept at a natural 32°C and has bubbly bits and an outdoor swimming pool too. It is not quite as large or grand as Bad Reichenhall or Baden Baden certainly impressive for such a tiny little town. After having a swim around and getting blown about by the bubbles (it was hard to stay sat still in a salty geothermal water!), I have settled down to read some of my nostalgic famous five book ‘ five go off to camp’ by Enid Blyton while Leon goes to cook himself in the sauna again. It really is not a cup of tea, but he tells me that it is the hottest he has ever been in. 15 minutes until my massage and I will have to try to work out where I have to go!

On our balcony after breakfast

2pm, massage executed, now relaxing in the restaurant with a lovely smoked salmon salad and Leon had a currywurst and chips. I’m drinking my red Bush tea and Leon is having a quick 20 minute sauna before we head on our way to the next destination.
