We went to the awesomely priced snack bar again (this time had a sweet avocado smoothie!), and on the way saw a wild land monitor! Quite a small one but all the same!
The waves looked inviting but not been today as was on way to the Unawatuna beach.
The Tuk Tuk driver explained how the tsunami had torn his family apart and was very sad to hear his story.
Unawatuna beach was lovely and quiet and we went to the Happy Banana. It did stink of dung inside but on the terrace/ beach outside, it was possibly the most glorious beach I have had the pleasure of witnessing.
We took it in turns going in the sea, as were warned bag snatchers are about, and a Chinese tourist got stabbed to death in 2015! But this was apparently as he was on his own at night time.
We have taken cover back at the complex for an hour or two, and washed the salt out the clothes and hair. Feels good and fresh.
Lesson of the day yesterday was: I have more than I need.
Like Jerry’s final thought hahaha!
