So while Cat had a nap (the heat is rather exhausting) I deceived to take a walk to Unawatuna beach. They don’t have paths here but the trucks and tuktuks avoid pedestrians so it feels rather safe. Though lots of drivers stopped to offer their services to this English man in the midday sun (truly mad, but I enjoy the excercise!)
The area around Unawatuna is rather bohememian, there’s lots of shops and yoga places … I even noticed that they have espresso, REAL espresso , due to the heat I went for a bottle of Coke Zero instead..
On to the beach in the blazing sun I took a dip (well 4 to be precise) while keeping an eye on my things.. all was good though the current here in Sri Lanka is very strong so I didn’t stray too far from the coast.
After much swimming and sun gathering I started to walk back to our b n b … and went the wrong way … I could only tell when I got the car park that I didn’t know existed! Lost and hot I haggled with a tuktuk driver and now I’m back, nicely before cat woke up , I hate to worry her as I do have a thing for big waves and big swims !
Oh an it’s just started raining and thundering so I timed it well !
