I get outside and immediately feel a lot better with my nose clearing and the tablets kicking in again. The paths are really flat and easy to walk on and the journey is very straight along the river although we can’t see the river yet, as it’s dark.
There really are some absolutely spectacular houses and this one in particular deserves some mention with its little turrets and glorious floral displays.

About 20 minutes into the walk, we can see flashes above the river as lightning turns the inky sky coral for a split second, illuminating the clouds. The tension mount as we can hear the gallons of water in the distance, must be Niagara Falls. I feel the most relaxed. I have all day and really grateful that I managed to persuade myself to add this into a very long day.
I catch my first glimpse of the multicoloured Falls through the suspension bridge. They are truly awesome, in its purist sense.

As we get nearer, they are getting louder and louder, and more and more stunning.
